BREAKING NEWS: CABRERA. - The secretary of Tourism, Francisco Javier García Fernández, announced the opening of an office of planning and projects in this commune, in order to promote the tourism development and the revival of this zone as new holiday pole in Dominican Republic.

At the time of a meeting with investors and the authorities of this commune, Javier García informed, that in addition to the construction of the pier as well as adjacent infrastructures, there will be also a leisures’center.

Cabrera possesses visual and tourist attractions different from the other areas of the country, this is why the revival of this zone by the authorities of the government will be done in alliance with the private sector, the town hall and the organizations of the civil society, he expressed.

Joined together in Villa Rebecca Mac-Donald, a villa located in the tourist project Ochid Bay, the Secretary of Tourism explained that work proceeded with an aim of supporting the tourist development and with a necessary planning.

The idea is that the structure and the infrastructures are made with a necessary planning, this is why we require of our Department of Planning and Projects to open an office in this commune, for preparing a tourist development plan of this zone, he indicated.

García Fernández asked Maribel Villalona, director of the Department of Planning and of Projects (DPP), to take a complete and fast plotting so that the portfolio which she manges has the essential resources to invest in work of tourist infrastructures of the commune of Cabrera, by indicating that it was necessary for the tourist revival of the zone.
