, addressed to the travel agents, local and international, to the tour operatoRs and to the tourists, was launched in Spanish, English, German and French.
The launching was directed by the president of OPETUR, Thamara Simó, by other directors of the organization and by personalities of the national tourist sector.
The president of OPETUR Thamara Simó, expressed that the natural and cultural wealth of the Dominican Republic is vast and constitutes an attraction for the visitor, an element of competitiveness for the country like destination, consequently OPETUR, conscious of its role, placed at the disposal of the tourists this guide in order they can enjoy a different experience and to explore the essence of the Caribbean of this Gods blessed land.
She added that the guide includes a map which identifies the protected sectors of public use and the conditions for their visit.
The Association of the Operators of Receptive Tourism of Dominican Republic, OPETUR, is the’ responsible institution to manage 90 percent of the tourists whom the country receives per year.
Its main goal is the organization and the service of receptive tourism with professionalism, safety and top quality standards, while contributing to the reinforcement of the tourist sector, important pime mover of the Dominican economy.

800 million pesos in 3 monthsBREAKING NEWS: During the first three months of this year, the Bank of Reservas maintained a good growth rate in its business by obtaining utilities for more than 808 million pesos.
The general administrator of the Bank of Reservas, Daniel Toribio, affirmed at the time of a press conference that businesses management during the first three months of the year allowed this institution to obtain utilities for 808.8 million pesos. He said that it represented a growth of 4 percent compared to the previous period.
Toribio said that this growth was due to a policy of diversified businesses, intended to the financial needs of the productive sectors and the national consumption.
He explained that the portfolio of credit of Banreservas, at the end of March 2009, had reached 101 billion 243 million pesos.
He moreover indicated that during the same period, the reserves were of 128 billion 223 million pesos, thus exceeding by 6.6 percent the portfolio of March 2008.
He said that this was a fact which reaffirms the confidence of the customers in this financial institution
.
During his meeting with the press, the general administrator of the Bank of Reservas underlined the strategic program of the organization, which emphasized on the expansion of its network.
He said that for the period from January to March, this program of strategic expansion resulted in the inauguration of four new offices.
These new offices are located in Higüey and in the crossing Verón-Bávaro, both in the province of La Altagracia, and two others in Cabrera and Río San Juan, in the province of María Trinidad Sánchez.
He explained that these centers will contribute to provide the access to a greater quantity of people to the products and the banking services, while one will promote the mediation of the resources of the savers, a vital aspect for the development of the communities.
Toribio said that the trajectory of the businesses of Banreservas and its commitment with the society had been recognized for the third consecutive year.
He quoted the price granted recently to the Bank as a one of the 10 companies most admired in 2008 in Dominican Republic, according to the classification of the Mercado review.
